Do not buy anything else but this product .... I just paid £50 for rechargeable lithium ion back pack it did not get anywhere near hot enough to penetrate through a thin t shirt or my skin on the 4th heat setting now this on the other hand is ready in 2 or 3 mins depending on how hit you need it and it is simply superb.... sticky pad ones from boots are pathetic Poundland ones don't eve heat up much trust me I've tried everything and searched for months ..i have constant lower back pain and this helps massively I cannot recommend this product enough so had to leave a huge review thanks enormously for this life saver or a product

Excellent product. Heats up well and reasonably quickly, the down side is, this product does not stay hot for long. I would have expected longer than 40 mins.Very disappointing.
Works as described and easy to use. Personally I find it better as a hot water bottle than for back problems but friends say it's worked well for them

My mum kept stealing this from me so I bought her her own one for Christmas! A really simple idea which works so well. You can even fasten the straps and take it to bed with you. (Probably not safe to wear it in bed). But read the warming instructions CAREFULLY as there have been issues with the heat pouch splitting due to reheating when not yet cold, as seen in other reviews.
Helps relieve pain
The product isn't a fashion accessory, but doesn't look too obvious, and the main thing is that having had two spinal operations, plus suffering from frequent, prolonged bouts of Polymyalgia, I was desperate to find some relief from constant, nagging back pain, which this product provides! My daughter has just had her 2nd big spinal operation and used hers when sitting at work prior to her latest surgery, so recommended it to me and I was really glad she did! It's quick and easy to prepare and the effects last for hours.
This item has a plastic water bag that when heated within the recommended time frame exploded and burnt my back and legs

I'm very pleased with this purchase. I use it almost every day and so far I've gained some noticeable flexibility to my lower back. It fits me well, (I have a 34 inch waist) and is easy to wear. Why not 5 stars? I'll tell you in a year. If everything is still working and hasn't come apart, then I'll come back and put an extra star on it!

Excellent idea as it saves me being plugged in to my heat pad which means I have problems moving around because of the lead. There are reviews of the pad leaking in the microwave but then you read some of the reviews where somebody said they had it in the microwave for up to 5 minutes so no wonder! people just do not read instructions. somebody also said you cannot walk around in it because it is too heavy - but then you read another review and some chap went out walking with his dog with it on. I have come up with a very good idea of keeping the heat longer by wrapping my other back support on top - this is great for the winter whilst i am mucking out my horses. 1 because i get the proper support from my back support but 2 because it keeps the pad firmly in place and keeps it hotter for longer. I think this is a very good product
I have scoliosis so my back can sometimes be really painful! I wanted to try this before I went down the medication route. Unfortunately this is too big for me so it probably doesn't work as well as it should do. If there was a bit more Velcro on either side of the straps then I'm sure it would fit better. i have a 950W microwave and would put it in for 2 minutes, it helped ease the pain for about hour, then it started to cool down and wasn't really that effective then. That being said the pain in my back has gotten a lot worse, and I still had to resort to medication for help with the pain. It was good when my back wasn't so painful and it did help ease the pain.
This was the second back wrap purchased. My husband has the blue one and it is absolutely the best thing for back pain. He 'wears' it most days and loves having heat on his back constantly even while walking etc. He has had no problem re-heating the pad (as other reviewers). He has used the back pad most days for a year. He wanted another one just in case the old one wore out, so I ordered another. I chose the black backwrap just for a change. Unfortunately the material on this particular one is made of synthetic material. The backwrap consists of a plastic coated pack that is heated in the microwave, then placed in the belt and fixed round the body. It gets quite warm and not unnaturally makes you sweat. The cover is non-absorbent and will make the sweating worse, plus the pack inside, being plastic, will also cause problems. It will be bad for any furniture it comes into contact with (particularly leather). I tried to return the pack to Amazon but was advised that as it is under 'health and beauty' it could not be returned. They were very helpful and eventually refunded half of the money and said I could keep the product. Actually I want the backwrap that has a cotton cover so was disappointed that I could not return it. Please anyone buying this, or any other item from that department, note it cannot be returned!To sum up. This is a fantastic product if it has the cotton cover (which others have). It would be five stars if the cover was right and also if there was a flap on the extension velcro fixing to stop it catching on jumpers etc. Hotties, apparently, have improved the microwave pack to avoid it melting (see other reviews. Buy a Hottie backwrap, just make sure you buy the right one and intend to keep it.
